bees get their name from their ability to drill through wood and nest in the hole. Their drilling creates a near-perfect vole hole, approximately 1/2 inch in diameter. The hole is usually located on the underside of the wood surface; including siding, soffits, decks, overhangs, fence posts and window frames. Although the hole appears to be only an inch or two deep, it rarely ends there. The female carpenter will turn 90 degrees and bore a channel from 6 inches to as long as 4 feet. This channel serves as a main corridor from which she will drill small chambers a few inches deep. These chambers become egg holders. She will deposit an egg, bring in a mass of pollen for the newly hatched larvae to feed on, and then seal it all off to ensure it''s development before she repeats the process for the next egg. The male spends most of his time flying around the nest playing guard. This is ironic as nature has left him ill prepared: he has no stinger! Only the female can sting. Simply killing the male will not solve your problem. You must treat the nest.

Surface Spray In vole many cases you might find mosquitoes resting or "lighting" on certain shrubs, small trees, ground cover and other such vegetation. Temp WP is an excellent product to use in this case. The wettable powder concentrate leaves an excellent residual for long-term control of insects. When treating for mosquitoes, lightly spray top and bottom surfaces of foliage. For more information on this insecticide concentrate, Click Here. Few creatures are as feared and misunderstood as spiders. For the most part, spiders are harmless and generally beneficial by keeping the insect populations in check. Spiders are seldom aggressive and bite only when threatened or injured. Few spiders bite people and the venom of most is harmless. However, the bite of the black widow and the brown recluse (also known as the Recluse or Fiddle Back) can be quite dangerous.

Obviously if you have an indoor mosquito problem, the best solution is to seal them out by repairing vole doors, screens, windows, etc.. If for some reason this is not always possible, you can use a space spray to kill flying pests. This can be done in one of two ways: with a hand-held pyrethrin fog (pyrethrin aerosol space spray) or with the use of a metered aerosol dispenser. The pyrethrin aerosol will give a quick kill of any flying insect pest indoors. Placed vole strategically, an aerosol vole dispenser can give constant knock down of mosquitoes and flies in an area up to 6,000 cubic feet. The dispenser uses a pyrethrin spray that applies a small burst of natural pyrethrins every 15 minutes. Purge III is the choice of pest operators and restaurants. This combination (aerosol dispenser and Purge) will help eliminate flying pests which invade homes, restaurants and other businesses. Each can of Purge contains 3,000 vole metered sprays, enough to last for about 30 days.
